Competition
The liberalization of regulated industries in Singapore and
the region has given rise to a need for a deeper and clearer
understanding of the complex legal issues that follow. This
is especially so in Singapore, with the introduction of a
new Competition Act which came into effect in January 2005.
The major strength of our Competition Law Group is the ability
to appreciate the wider commercial and economic agendas of
our clients, which enables us to deliver effective solutions.
Our Competition Law Group has developed a good understanding
of the market mechanism and the economic principles that are
fundamental to competition law.
Some of the areas that we cover include reviewing existing
business arrangements and contracts for compliance with competition
law and advising on the competition law implications of these
agreements, Assisting in submissions to the Competition Commission
for examination of agreements for guidance or decision, Representing
companies in disputes before any tribunals involving competition
issues, Advising on and drafting codes of practice or standards
of performance for operational and procedural compliance with
competition law, representation in enforcement proceedings
before the Competition Commission of Singapore or the industry
regulators.
